The Golf Channel suspended anchor Kelly Tilghman for two weeks on Wednesday for saying last week that young players who wanted to challenge Tiger Woods should "lynch him in a back alley."Before her suspension was announced, Rev. Al Sharpton spoke on CNN's "Prime News" to beat the drum to get her canned, saying he wanted to meet with Golf Channel because the comments were "an insult to all blacks.
"The comment was made last Friday but apparently the Golf Channel had no problem with it until the following Wednesday when the media, and chronically offended blow hard Al Sharpton got wind of it and saw it as a good opportunity to further their agenda(s). Suspending Tilghman was simply a lame attempt at retroactive damage control by the network."
The end result being, they essentially throw their employee under the bus, and make the network execs look like craven cowards.
"If Tiger isn't offended, there is no reason for others need to be offended on his behalf."
